Model 300DL & 200 Series

The Model 300DL and 200 Series Sonic Water Level Meters are no longer in production. However, maintenance and repairs are still available through Ravensgate Corporation in Ridgecrest, California.

Have you misplaced the user guide, temperature table, or regional maps?

Are you missing a 6″ well cap cover or a red microphone cap?

About the Model 300DL

Accurate Depth Reading

Readings are taken without introducing foreign objects deep into a well. The SONIC method uses the air space in the well to send an acoustic signal down to the water’s surface. Simply insert the measuring duct into the access port in the well cap, making sure the measuring duct extends completely through the well cap. Then just press the red “POWER ON” button, and the water level will be displayed after the first “ping,” typically. If an inaccurate reading is received, then the initial depth setting may have been incorrect. If so, simply change the depth setting and press the “POWER ON” button again, and the meter will provide a new reading.

Use Regional Map and Tables

Regional maps (USA only) and temperature tables for both Fahrenheit and Celsius are provided with each meter. For USA owners, the regional maps are divided into sections for your state. First, locate the region where the well is located on the state map. Next, use the corresponding regional number on the table to find the temperature setting for the appropriate month. Map tables may not be useful in regions with geothermal activity or anomalous subsurface conditions. For owners outside the USA (and for those with geothermal or anomalous conditions), it is necessary to know the well water temperature and the monthly average temperature in order for the meter to provide the most accurate reading.

Configure for Accuracy

For the best accuracy, it is necessary to compensate for the variation of sound velocity with well air temperature. Just simply adjust the temperature by using the “TEMP” toggle switch; pressing the switch up will raise the temperature and down will lower it. The device keeps track of the most recent setting.

Configure for Deeper Wells

The DEPTH switch optimizes the measuring capability for deeper wells. In the normal “Nml” setting, the measurement range is 10 to 500 feet (3 to 150m). For the deep “Dp” setting, the measurement range is 200 to 1200 feet (60m to 350m).

External & Battery-Powered

The Model 300DL comes with a power supply cord, so you don’t have to worry about your meter’s batteries running out during the long hours of data logging. During the process of downloading logged data to the computer via the dedicated USB cable, the power cord can be used to save the meter’s batteries.

Data Logging

Available with the Model 300DL, the user is able to collect data on a well over a period of time, with or without the user having to remain on site. The Model 300DL can store readings in up to 20 wells.

About Model 200 Series

Replace Your Old Model for a Discount

The 200 series has been around for more than 10 years, and our new Model 300 series provides the same quality and performance with a few upgrades. If an owner returns a damaged Model 200 Series meter for repair and the meter is determined to be non-repairable, then the owner will receive a 10% discount on the purchase price of a new Model 300 in exchange for the non-repairable Model 200 Series.

Upgrade to Model 300

The Model 300 series features a distinct opening at the bottom of the meter to facilitate battery replacement, eliminating the need to lift the lid to exchange the eight AA batteries present in the meter. Additionally, the Model 300 is presented in a yellow color scheme to increase its visibility in a worksite setting. Furthermore, the LCD screen now displays the well depth reading for a period of up to 20 seconds, allowing for more efficient logging of data.

Flexible Settings

Owners of Model 200U have the flexibility to set their meter’s gain or sensitivity to a variable or fixed setting. The Model 300 series retained the Model 200U’s flexibility and gained time and date settings.
